Reminder: pieces of wood in chicken nuggets
Health Canada has discovered pieces of wood in chicken nuggets sold in Quebec.
Wood in chicken nuggets? Yes, you read correctly! Health Canada recently ordered the recall of St-Hubert and Cavalier brand chicken nuggets after finding pieces of wood in them.
Chicken and crispy breadcrumbs, the recipe for chicken croquettes seems simple. However, Health Canada has detected in the chicken breast croquettes of St-Hubert and Cavalier one more ingredient that has no place on our plates: wood.
The federal institution thus ordered the recall of the said kibbles which had been sold in Ontario, New Brunswick and Quebec. The recall specifically concerns chicken breast croquettes in 4kg format for the Cavalier brand and 600g for St-Hubert.
“The products concerned must not be used, sold, served or distributed”, specifies Health Canada.
Here are the affected products:
- Cavalier – Chicken Breast Nuggets 4kg (Packaged on 2022-09-09, 2022-11-14 or 2022-11-24)
- St-Hubert – Chicken Breast Nuggets 600g (Best before March 12 or July 11, 2024) – CUP: 0 66701 01109 7
If you have them at home, it is advisable to bring them back to the shops where they were purchased.
