Repairs to Highway 20 for the Saint-Jean weekend
Autoroute 20 will be closed at the interchange of Autoroutes 20 and 30 in weekend.
“Major” repairs to Highway 20 and the Louis-Hyppolite-La Fontaine tunnel will complicate travel for the National Day festivities, since they will cause the closure of a sector of the highway interchange 20 and 30.
It’s the construction of signal gates that is to blame this time around. A section of the Highway 20 service road will be closed westbound, in the sector of the interchange of Highways 20 and 30. The closure will be in effect on weekends from 11:59 p.m., Saturday, until 5 a.m. morning, Monday.
During the night of Thursday to Friday (from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.), highway 25 southbound will be completely closed between exit n°4 – Montréal (centre- city)/J.-Cartier Bridge and the entrance from Île Charron. This closure therefore includes the Louis-Hyppolite-La Fontaine tunnel. There are still reasons to rejoice: this is the only obstacle that will afflict this section of the road in the coming days.
The entrances to this section will gradually close at 10 p.m. on Thursday evening. Speed will be reduced in construction zones and obstructions may be modified, advanced, pushed back or cancelled. It is recommended to consult quebec511.info for more information.
