Restless night in Saint-Laurent
Last night was eventful in the borough of Saint Laurent, in Montreal. Two criminal incidents have been listed by the authorities.
A 19-year-old young man was shot and wounded during an attack at the corner of Dépatie and Cléroux streets. According to the first elements, the victim was on foot, followed by two individuals who planned to steal his personal effects. One of them allegedly opened fire. The two suspects fled before police arrived.
The young man, who was transported to a hospital, is said to be in stable condition and was conscious when the authorities arrived. The scene was protected to allow investigators to carry out analysis. The canine unit was also dispatched to the scene. An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.
Shots fired at a restaurant
The second incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. Several shots were fired at a restaurant located on boulevard Côte-Vertu, near boulevard Lebeau. This trade had already been the target of criminal acts. Molotov cocktails were thrown at this establishment last fall.
Last night's shots reportedly caused no injuries. Casings and bullet holes were spotted by the authorities.
