Revenu Québec will be accommodating with those affected by the floods

Revenu Québec will be accommodating with citizens and businesses who may have fallen behind in their tax return , due to flooding in recent days.

“Some people have found themselves unable to meet their tax obligations within the usual timeframes because of this exceptional situation beyond their control,” said Revenu Québec.

The persons concerned will thus be able to make a request for flexibility by means of form MR-94.1 in order to be exempted from late penalties.

Revenu Québec indicates that each file will be analyzed on a case-by-case basis, “according to its particularities”, before a decision is rendered.

Remember that the deadline for sending your tax return was on May 1st. It should also be noted that Revenu Québec had also shown flexibility in the processing of files affected by the ice storm that hit Quebec in April.
