Sauna on wheels taking over Quebec
The first Solstice Sauna sauna is installed on the municipal beach of North Hatley in the Eastern Townships.
Make the sauna more accessible, more fun and offer a new winter activity: this is the objective that Solstice Sauna has set itself! With its sauna on wheels – a first in Canada – the company hopes to create a craze and why not deploy everywhere in Quebec in the coming years.
A funny little house on wheels has just appeared on the municipal beach of North Hatley in Estrie. No, it's not a tiny housebut a mobile sauna! Installed on the shores of Lake Massawippi, it will remain there until spring to allow spa lovers to enjoy the beach in a different way by alternating between sauna and swimming in cold water. It will be moved to leave the beach free this summer and will be back for a second season in winter 2023-2024.
If the goal is of course to relax, it is also to socialize and have fun, as we do in Europe. While in most Quebec spas you have to remain silent, here you can chat as much as you want before going for a dip in the lake.

“After two years of pandemic, it is important to invest in facilities that take us out of loneliness, from our screens, and which allow us to fully experience our northernness”, underline in a press release Frédérik-Toran Nissen and Ismaël Ulvik, the co-founders of Solstice Sauna.
“With outdoor activities nearby, North Hatley has the potential to become a city that offers outdoor places to socialize year-round. As the region is very busy in the summer, it makes sense to create gathering opportunities for residents and visitors, even in winter. »
A second sauna – floating this time – should be installed in Magog in the coming months and others could emerge elsewhere in Quebec.
A 75-minute session costs $24.95 + taxes. As places are limited, to enjoy the experience you must book in advance on the Solstice sauna website. It is also possible to privatize the sauna for groups of up to 14 people.
