Beatrice Deer

The Montreal-based singer-songwriter is back with Shifting , a nice sixth album. And Beatrice Deer & rsquo; s polar “Inuindian” pop could not have come at a better time, with the warm arrival of winter.

The artist of Inuit and Mohawk origin gracefully evokes personal experiences infused with Inuit legends and throat songs. We thus find in Shifting high-pitched lyrics in Inuktitut, English and French. The melodies, meanwhile, take us somewhere between enchanting pop and very 2000s rock with its saturated guitars.

Our favorites: Free , Aanngiq , Ilinnut , Mother and a final & # 8230; pleasantly surprising!
