Snowmobile Accident in Baie-Saint-Paul: the wounded child would be out of danger
The five year old involved in a snowmobile accident in Baie-Saint-Paul Saturday would be “out of danger”, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The child had suffered serious injuries when the vehicle in which he was dark in a cottage. He dwelt in a been critical since Saturday.
“We no longer fear for his life. But when one speaks of serious injury on a child, it must be understood that his state of health can change from one moment to the other,” explains a spokesperson for the SQ, Ann Mathieu.
An adult and a child were on the snowmobile at the time of the accident. The adult suffered minor injuries.
They were driving on the outskirts of the land of cottages, in a path close to the boulevard Monseigneur-de-Laval. They were not on the public highway at the time of impact.
In the next few days, investigators from the SQ will be conducting the inspection of the craft. There will also be analysis as to whether the accident was caused by a wrong manoeuvre of the adult.
“The child could also interfere in the conduct of the vehicle, he sat in the front, between the arms of the driver,” notes the spokesperson.
