Spotify Silenced (and the Internet is Panicking!)
Online listening services giant Spotify silenced many of its subscribers due to an outage on Tuesday. Several of them took to social media to report that they had been logged out of their account and were unable to log back in. Others also said that their music library disappeared from their account.
In the middle of the afternoon, the Swedish company confirmed that a problem was indeed affecting its service. According to the statement, the situation mostly affected users of the listening platform’s mobile app.
At the time of this writing, Spotify said the state of affairs had improved since then. the start of the breakdown, but that certain difficulties could still be encountered by music lovers. Moreover, the cultural team of Métro was still not able to access his profile. The cause of the problem has not been disclosed.
Launched in 2008, Spotify now has more than 406 million users, including 180 million with a paid subscription. The platform distributes more than 82 million musical titles in addition to 3.6 million podcasts, including the controversial podcast The Joe Rogan Experience which caused several artists to withdraw their discography from the platform. p>
