The 83-year-old victim's vehicle fell into the river at Saint-Louis Park, said Véronique Comtois, public relations officer for the Montreal Police Department. (SPVM).
The 911 received a call shortly after midnight. According to several witnesses, the vehicle would have fallen from the descent of boats, report the police. The octogenarian is said to be in critical condition.
A good Samaritan would have jumped into the river to extricate the man who was in the vehicle, added Ms. Comtois. The 25-year-old man was treated at the scene for hypothermia.
