Strike at the Casino de Montréal

The croupiers and croupiers of the Casino de Montréal will go on a four-hour strike at the end of the day.

This is the second walkout in less than 24 hours in order to denounce the slowness of negotiations for the renewal of their collective agreement, indicates the Canadian Union of Public Employees (FTQ).

The union members will demonstrate in front of the casino site during the walkout, starting at 4 p.m. We need more openness from the employer during the mediation sessions that will take place from next Tuesday,”, said Jean -Pierre Proulx, union representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

Among the points of contention, monetary issues, schedules and work organization. The collective agreement for 521 croupiers expired on March 31, 2020.

For its part, Loto-Québec has announced that it intends to continue negotiations with the union.
