Taxi: angry drivers return to the National Assembly

Taxi-owner drivers have not been off the hook since Transport Minister François Bonnardel announced on Monday that the $ 500 million bid to offset them for the loss of value of their license was final.

A new demonstration was held Tuesday morning in Quebec City, while dozens of proprietor drivers paraded in procession on major arteries of the Old Capital to settle before the National Assembly.

Since dawn, dozens of cars had been gathered in a parking lot in the Sainte-Foy borough. Posters announcing the continuation of the strike initiated the day before were fixed on some of these automobiles.

The convoy of taxis took the Boulevard Laurier eastbound, then the Grande Allée, to arrive little by little in front of the Parliament around 10am.
