“That’s how I love you”: 10-time winner at Gemini 2022

The fight was hot between comedy-drama Audrey is returned and the quirky second season of C'est comme ça que je t'aime, but it was ultimately the latter that dominated the evening of the Gémeaux awards gala by leaving with a total of ten trophies.

The 37th Gémeaux gala, which rewards the talents of the Quebec small screen, took place Sunday evening live from the Théâtre Maisonneuve. For the ninth year, Véronique Cloutier hosted the televised ceremony. 

C'est comme ça que je t'aime, written by François Létourneau, who is also one of the main actors, and directed by Jean-François Rivard and Robin Aubert, and Audrey is back, directed by Florence Longpré and Guillaume Lambert, were favorites with 13 nominations each.

The coronation of That's how I love you

If it’s not “l’ year of the woman” (reference in the series), it’s definitely the year of That’s how I love you. The second season of the series was distinguished in terms of Best Drama Series, Best Direction and Best Texts. 

While picking up her trophy, producer Joanne Forgues < /em> highlighted the work that remains to be done in terms of fighting for women's rights on the planet, even in 2022, in his acceptance speech.

The work is also the most successful work abroad and has therefore won the new prize created in this sense, surpassing series such as Bête noire and< em>District 31.

Its cinematography, its artistic cast, its editing, its musical theme (A mare for you my darling), its sets, as well as its make-up and its vintage hairstyles were also praised during the gala of the ;industry which rewarded the artisans of the shadows last Thursday evening. 

5 awards for Audrey Has Returned

The comedy drama Audrey Has Returned, which tells the story of the woman who came back from a long coma, also caught the eye of the evening by leaving with a total of five prizes.

The team of the series available on Club illico got their hands on the trophy for Best Comedy, Best Director and Best Text for a Comedy. 

Florence Longpré also won the award for Best Female Lead in a Comedy, while Denis Bouchard won the Gémeaux for Best Male Supporting Role in a Comedy. 

We recently learned that the ten episodes of the comedy series have been sold for distribution in France and Italy.

Other awarded productions

Besides That’s how I love you and Audrey came back, eight productions also made the hat trick, being crowned winners in the categories of best program, best direction, as well as best text or best animation.
