The finalists of the 2023 Gastronomy Laurels

The Quebec Gastronomy Laurels are celebrating their fifth anniversary this year.

For their fifth anniversary, the Lauriers de la gastronomie québécoise received no fewer than 6,000 applications, a record! But of this number, only 95 talents have been selected as finalists and they have just been revealed.

In order to decide between these finalists selected in the 16 categories that make up the Lauriers, the some 6,000 Quebec gastronomy professionals who form the Brigade des Lauriers will have to vote. Their voices will count for half and will be completed by those of the jury composed this year of pastry chef Patrice Demers, sommelier Marie-Josée Beaudoin, Ricardo Larrivee, Claudia Doyon (mixologist of the year 2022), Dyan Solomon (Olive and Gourmando) , Fernande Ouellet (producer of the year 2021), journalist Allison Van Rassel, Danny Smiles (Le Bremner) and Chanthy Yen (former chef of Justin Trudeau).

The awards ceremony will take place May 29, during the gala evening hosted by Christian Bégin (himself nominated in two categories) and Christine Plante, founder and general manager of the Lauriers.
