The Cupboard ice cream parlor will not reopen this summer

The Mirror Cabinet opened its doors in 2012 on the Plaza Saint-Hubert.

As the fine weather sets in and the Plaza Saint-Hubert returns to its terraces, a favorite business on the thoroughfare will not be reopening its doors this year. Indeed, the L’Armoire à glaces artisanal dairy has posted a message on its front indicating its permanent closure.

“Dear customers, dear lovers of fresh ice cream! It’s with sadness that we close our doors. What an adventure it will have been for us… 10 years of ice cream gone, but lived to the fullest. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of our loyal customers. Long life”, could we read on the door of the seasonal trade which reopened usually during the month of May.

Another paper, also posted on the door, indicated that the business had gone bankrupt. Through the window, you could also see that the mauve and pink place well known to fansof ice cream for its original flavors – ricotta figs, banana caramel, blueberry white chocolate – had obviously been emptied.

Installed on the Plaza since 2012, L’Armoire à glaces had been bought in 2017 and transformed by its new owner, Valérie Campeau, who had chosen to transform the café-glacerie into a seasonal creamery, in betting on entirely artisanal ice creams.
