Often presented as easy and lucrative, content creation on OnlyFans is attracting more and more people, as evidenced by the significant increase in the number of creators recorded last year, which rose from 2, 16 million in 2021 to more than 3 million in 2022. But this activity may not be for everyone… Two ex-creators testify.
Aged 37 and mother of a 14-year-old teenager, Dominique has worn many hats during her life. Cochère in Montreal for several years, she is currently a lecturer in three Quebec universities, in addition to leading a parallel career in the world of music under the name of R41ÑB0W TR4$H.
< p>When she started on OnlyFans in 2020, her goal was to continue her artistic practice, but with “a different type of content”. “These were photos and videos where I was naked lying on a bass amp or playing the theremin”, she illustrates.
As is often the case on the platform, it’s the more explicit content shared in private interactions that generated the most revenue for Dominique.

< p>While she initially devoted ten hours a week to OnlyFans, Alice subsequently struggled to keep a fairly steady production pace. Gradually, she reduced her involvement, then completely abandoned her account after a year. “I wasn't very diligent, that's one of the reasons I quit,” she recalls.
In total, I think I made $1000 in the first few months. I had like 15 subscribers.

She preferred to return to her job as an escort, which she finds less impersonal and which allows her to make a clearer distinction between her job and his private life.

If OnlyFans allowed her to have a significant extra income – she says she made between $400 and $500 a month as a pic – Dominique also ended up stopping after a year, judging the creation on the platform and the interactions with her 60 or so subscribers too time-consuming.

Representing near working 10 hours a week, her activity on the platform was difficult to reconcile with her job as a lecturer and her other artistic projects.
Si Dominique has not been present on OnlyFans since 2021 , this experience has influenced her artistic practice, since the Game Boy and theremin player now incorporates more and more nudity into her stage performances.
“I realized that I had a penchant for burlesque performance. It started to translate into my shows”, says the artist who wishes to continue in this direction, even to go even further.
