Together Montreal: Serge Sasseville slams the door

Downtown city councilor Serge Sasseville is turning his back on the political party Ensemble Montréal.
On the social network Twitter, Mr. Sasseville explains his decision to leave the caucus of Ensemble Montreal “because of a different way of seeing municipal politics […]”. He will now sit as an independent advisor.
En raison d’une façon différente de voir la politique municipale, j’ai informé plus tôt aujourd’hui le chef d’Ensemble Montréal de ma décision de quitter le parti. Je siégerai dorénavant comme conseiller indépendant et je travaillerai en collaboration avec tou(te)s les élu(e)s

Leader of the Official Opposition and leader of 'Ensemble Montreal, Aref Salem, took note of the decision. “Serge Sasseville has decided to leave the Ensemble Montreal family and I respect his decision. I wish him good luck for the future,” said Mr. Salem.
Mr. Sasseville served as Candidate for the position of City Councilor for the Peter-McGill district of the Ville-Marie borough for 8 months from April 2021 to November 2021.
He also worked at Quebecor from 1987 to 2019 and held several positions there, both as a lawyer and as a manager.
