Two dead in connection with the ice storm
There are now two deaths related to Wednesday's ice storm. The two people were killed by a falling tree branch.
The first death recorded was that of a man in his sixties, who died crushed under the weight of a tree branch while he was busy behind his residence in Montérégie.
Quebec Security (SQ) was called Thursday morning to go to the back of a residence on Principale Street, in Les Coteaux, in Montérégie. The police, who found the man unconscious, tried to resuscitate him, in vain. His death was pronounced on the spot.
A second death is to be deplored in the country, according to Radio-Canada. This time it was an Ontario man who died, killed by a tree branch.
