Verdun: the person struck this morning gives his news
Mowed down a few hours earlier in the day by a vehicle whose driver died of a heart attack, a resident of Verdun’ Borough of Verdun gave its news on social networks, from its hospital bed, by posting in a Facebook group of the Verdun community.
It was nearly 10:30 a.m. this morning when this 33-year-old young woman, who was on foot, was hit by a car in a double collision at the intersection of rue Bannantyne and the Brown Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident, a 74-year-old man, died.
The young woman wanted to express herself on the web in order to share her experience and to thank the people who assisted her.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who stopped to help us. And despite the fact that I’m in the hospital, I’m fine and nothing is broken. Just a lot of pain,” she commented.
The Montrealer received, in exchange for her moving testimony, a flood of messages of support from the internet members of the group. Many of them wished him a speedy recovery and expressed their sympathy.
The victim had a warm thought for the deceased driver and his family, to whom she sent her condolences.
“And a big thought for the driver's family.. My condolences to the driver's family. Life is short,” she added.
