Victory of Morocco: Haitian pride on social networks
Morocco, the first African nation in the semi-finals of the World Cup, is making history.
“Bravo Maroc!” chants Osé Domond on his Facebook account. “When I miss Morocco… ;. We are together!” John Miller Beauvoir says, posting photos and the Moroccan flag on his wall.
The Haitian community in Montreal, in the streets and on social networks, celebrates this victory as much as the Moroccans, because of their African ancestry.
“It gives us hope, because it is a part of us who wins,” says Rony Sanon, a North Montrealer. (Yassine Bounou) was raised in Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal

A community actor, Roger Petit-Frère, agrees. “As a descendant of Africa, I am delighted with this feat, even if I am Haitian”, launches the person in charge of the Center Jean-Paul Lemay in Montreal-North.
“It is historic, extraordinary”, underlines for his part Grégory Excellent in the sense that it is the first African nation to go to the semi-finals of a World Cup.
“This victory then we will take”, launches, with a smile, Mr. Excellent.
