Wave of mischief in the Saint-Élie sector

Several citizens of rue des Pélicans and rue Croteau in the Saint-Élie sector in Sherbrooke have reported thefts and mischief committed on their cars.

Sabrina Lavoie La Tribune The Service de Police de Sherbrooke (SPS) reports several misdeeds committed on cars in the Saint-Élie sector in Sherbrooke.

Several citizens of rue des Pélicans and rue Croteau have reported thefts and mischief committed on several cars and “possibly on residences”. According to Sergeant Martin Lagueux, eight complaints have been made so far.

Two young people were arrested on rue des Perdrix, then released Sunday morning in connection with these events. However, other charges could be laid. “We could not proceed to lay charges before receiving the complaints, but they are already starting to pile up. […] They caused a lot of damage, ”indicates Sergeant Lagueux.

According to citizens met on the rue des Pélicans, the individuals have entered houses. An owner also reportedly captured the two teenagers with his surveillance camera and then posted the footage on social media. This was not, however, what would have enabled the police to arrest the two suspects.

The seats of a car would have been damaged and burned with a cigarette, in addition to vandalism on the body.
