Yvon Deschamps receives the Denise-Pelletier award
Comedian Yvon Deschamps is the recipient of the Denise-Pelletier Prize for his remarkable contribution to the performing arts.

This is the highest distinction awarded by the Government of Quebec in culture and science.
Pandemic forces, the annual ceremony could not take place, but the winners each receive a medal and a purse of $ 30,000.
The comedian Yvon Deschamps has greatly distinguished himself since the 1960s “by his stripping humor which encourages reflection, and his social commitment”.

“Thus leading a fruitful literary career for more than 30 years, the poet, short story writer and novelist Carole David is today an important figure in contemporary Quebec literature,” we read in the Prix du Québec press release. There is no doubt that Ms. David has erected a masterful work, which establishes bridges between the intimate and the social, where housewives, marginalized and idle women meet, while honoring her Italian origins in passing. “
The giant in the middle of the puppet André Laliberté and Pierre Bourgault of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, for his public art installations, are among the recipients in culture.
Former journalist Solange Chalvin was also awarded for his promotion of the French language and Mohamed Lotfi for the radio program Souverains anonyme which has received tens of thousands of detainees over the years.
Also part of the lot are the architect, urban planner and professor emeritus Claude Dubé, who is dedicated to the enhancement of Quebec's heritage, as well as Malaka Ackaoui and Vincent Asselin, two landscape architects guided by environmental concerns.
